I finally got all the recordings I made of the services in England transferred off the high-quality, but computer-unfriendly MiniDisc recorder and onto the web! Here's some highlights from our trip, enjoy!
Salisbury Cathedral: David Hogan's Magnificat
Salisbury Cathedral: Howell's Nunc Dimitis (my big solo!)
Wells Cathedral: Tompkins Responses (kinda boring, but I got to pretend to be a priest by leading the choir in the responses and chanting the prayers)
Wells Cathedral: Stainer I Saw the Lord (I'm featured in a quartet of soloists starting at minute 4:00)
Chichester Cathedral: Traditional Carol The Joys Seven, in honor of the feast of St. Mary the Virgin. Listen to those kids! If you didn't know them, you'd think they were angels...
St. Mary's Church, Rye: Gabrieli Angeli, Archangeli
These are for you, dad. Can't believe it's been 10 years...

Wow, has it really been 10 years?! That was a rough year I remember.
I would love to hear your songs, but me being me, I can't seem to get them to play on the computer. It doesn't work when I press play.
Hope all is well now that you are back in NY and back at work. I'm assuming we'll get to see you and Nate for a night or afternoon in October?

Aw, nuts!
Weird, it was working fine the night I created this post. I did some tweaking - try them again, and let me know if they still don't work.
Yep, it was 10 years on the 2nd. In fact, the last time I was in Europe was just a few months before he died. I remember talking to him long-distance when I was over there, and him telling me about all the stuff he saw when he was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. It's a little mind boggling that he's been gone that long, and yet it almost seems longer when you think of all that's changed since '98. We are all definitely getting old.
And yes, we'll see you soon! Once I get a schedule from the bride, I'll know more about when we're free.
